Job Title: Outreach Librarian - Part Time
Category: Part-Time

Salary: $17.2827 per hour
Description:
  1. ASSISTS all patrons in obtaining information from library print, electronic and      World Wide Web resources via telephone, fax, in-person, or electronic requests. 
  2. SELECTS, EVALUATES, and MAINTAINS deposit collections of outreach materials. 
  3. DEVELOPS, MAINTAINS, & EVALUATES books, resources, and learning tools for all outreach programs. 
  4. PROVIDES reader’s advisory services for children and young adults.
  5. PLANS and LEADS tours of the library.
  6. PLANS, PROMOTES, and FACILITATES grant writing and administration.
  7. PREPARES special reading lists and bibliographies on subjects and themes relevant to outreach populations.
  8. PARTICIPATION in outreach efforts to nursing homes, local school districts, city outreach efforts, and service organizations.
  9. INITIATES and MAINTAINS contact with and liaisons with local organizations and agencies serving the adult and child care community.
  10. STIMULATE public interest in outreach services and conducts community outreach service education campaigns and workshops.
  11. PERFORMS all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Masters degree or equivalent in Library/Information Science from an ALA accredited school required. One to two years of experience in public or school library required.
Special Requirements:
Skills in organization, computer usage, written and oral communications, use of Internet and other electronic resources. Knowledge of principles, practices, and trends in outreach service coordination. Ability to communicate clearly, interact with the public effectively, speak in front of groups and write and administer grants. Ability to plan and implement comprehensive outreach programs/initiatives for targeted populations.
