Physical Assessment
Assessment Standards

The League City Police Department has established the following physical assessment standards based on validation studies of over 180 federal, state, and municipal agencies. These studies established a range of fitness standards as published by the Cooper Institute in "The Fitness Assessments and Norms for Adults and Law Enforcement." These standards define a baseline expectation of fitness for candidates desiring to enter into service with the League City Police Department.

The physical agility test must be passed before moving forward in the hiring process after passing the civil service exam.  The physical agility requirements for all candidates are listed below.
Test Standards
  • 34 sit-ups (one minute)
  • 30 push-ups (one minute)
  • 300 meter sprint (65 seconds)
  • 1.5 mile run (15 minutes)

Please be sure to hydrate and be cautious of any heat related issues.
