Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership


WHEREAS, in late 1975 the Area Promotion Committee of the Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce, later renamed the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, established an economic development foundation; and

WHEREAS, on August 26, 1976 a charter meeting of the Clear Lake Economic Development Foundation was held, whose name later changed to the Clear Lake Area Economic Development Foundation or CLAEDF; and 

WHEREAS, on May 14, 2003 CLAEDF officially changed its name to the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership or BAHEP; and

WHEREAS, BAHEP has become a standard of economic development in action, their pursuit of economic development opportunities to recruit, retain, expand and create businesses and to build new industry clusters has been outstanding ;


NOW, THEREFORE, I, Pat Hallisey, by virtue of the authority vested in me as the 10th Mayor of the City of League City do hereby proclaim

“Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership”

as an outstanding partnership within the region, across Texas, nationally and internationally. The City of League City joins in celebrating their 40th anniversary.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the City of League City, Texas, to be affixed on this the 13th day of September 2016.
