Vacation House Checks
Vacation House Checks

The League City Police Department Volunteers In Policing (VIP) program offers a free vacation house check as a service to League City residents.  Once your vacation house check request is received, the volunteers will make random drive by checks of your residence during the specified time period.  Volunteers will utilize the information you
provide to visually inspect the home from the front.  If anything appears suspicious, the volunteers will alert on-duty League City police officers who will conduct a more thorough check of the residence.

This program is a courtesy offered by our VIP program that will supplement, not replace,  normal residential patrols by League City police officers.  These courtesy patrols are not a guarantee to prevent all criminal acts in your absence; residents should take all necessary precautions to secure their homes while away.

  • League City residents only.
  • The residence must be a single family dwelling.
  • The residence must not be a vacant home.
  • No other person may be staying at the residence in the absence of the resident.
  • The resident's absence from the home must be at least three days and no more than 14 days.
  • Residents agree not to hold the City of League City liable or their agents responsible for any acts of criminal nature or acts of God that occur during the time period that "Vacation House Checks" are being performed.

If you meet all the above qualifications, the Vacation House Check form must be filled out and electronically submitted.  We will make every effort to accommodate your request.  In order to ensure your request is met, please allow a week's notice.  Once the form is submitted, a confirmation email will be sent to you from our VIP Coordinator.
