Jack Compton

2015 Arthur Hewitt Volunteer Spirit Award Recipient

Jack Compton was recognized by Mayor Tim Paulissen, Mayor of League City, as the 2015 Arthur Hewitt Volunteer Spirit Award Recipient during the Aug. 25, 2015 City Council meeting.  Compton, President of the League City Citizens’ Police Academy Alumni Association, was honored for his volunteer work with the police department.  He has volunteered more than 1,000 hours per year in an effort to bridge the communication divide between the law enforcement community and League City residents.  Compton has helped organize the City’s Salute to Military Heroes week, morale events for League City first responders, and is an active volunteer who also serves as a field trainer for the Volunteers in Policing program.



Cheryl Scott

2015 Above and Beyond Award Recipient

Cheryl Scott was recognized by Mayor Tim Paulissen, Mayor of League City, during the Aug. 25, 2015 City Council meeting.  Scott was honored for her volunteerism efforts with the League City Animal Shelter.  Scott has devoted more than 454 hours in the past year to volunteering with the City’s Animal Shelter to promote the many animals in need of a home.  She has spent hours showing off the adoptable animals at numerous community events, training volunteers and supporting the animal shelter in hopes of bettering the League City community.
