1. Be sure to sign up for our Blackboard Connect system. This system will allow us to send text message updates, phone calls, and emails regarding important issues such as evacuation orders, power outages, boil water notices, and other helpful information like ice locations and stores that are open.

2. Sign up for our Notify Me system which will allow us to post information to our website and send you an SMS and email notification. We will only post pertinent information to the "Emergency Notifications" newsflash such as the information mentioned above.

3. Pass our Facebook and Twitter information on to as many of your neighbors as your can to encourage them to sign up as well.

Blackboard Connect is our main line of communication in a critical situation, however we will do our best to keep all of our networks up to date. Depending on your situation you may be able to access one easier than the other. For example, if you are out of power and internet, you may be able to access Facebook on your phone easier than looking at the website. We hope that you will sign up and spread the word!

Tips to Stay Informed in a Storm

176990809.jpg1. Always have batteries on hand and at least one battery operated radio.

2. Weather radios are always helpful during severe weather.

3. Try using rechargeable flashlights and keeping them plugged in so that when power goes out they will illuminate each room.

4. Consider buying a backup battery for your phone and laptop so that you can charge one while using the other.
