Re-use Improvements - Phase 1
Screen Shot 2013-08-29 at 4.27.08 PM.pngDescription
Project consists of upgrade pumps and controls at DSWWTP, and installation of re-use lines to re-use distribution purposes. The benefits that will be derived from this project include the reduction of the use of potable water for irrigation purposes and the generation of revenue from the sale of the re-use water to help offset the cost of wastewater treatment.

Why It's Needed
This is called for in the Master Plan. This will be needed once the Hwy 3 pump station is up and running and the 24 inch and 39 inch water lines are converted from transmission to distribution. This will also provide additional capacity and pressure to the central and east sides of the city. This will supplement the water system and provide better system pressure and fire protection. This project is depicted as a General Benefit facility in the CRF Update 2005-2014, thereby qualifying for CRF funding.
