TxDOT FM518 Bypass Hike & Bike

A Hike and Bike Trail Project managed by TxDOT utilizing Federal Grant Funds in the amount of $2.19 million with city matching funds of $1.46 million, for an estimated total project cost of $3.65 million. This city is also responsible for all right-of-way / easement purchases, which are being budgeted at $110,000 and for joint approved over-runs of project, which are budgeted at $365,000 . The Hike and Bike Trail consists of a 10 feet wide multi-use path that is 2.3 miles in length connecting FM270/Egret Bay Blvd with South Shore Blvd and includes the construction of a box culvert undercrossing at FM2094 with retaining walls and safety railing.
