Screen Shot 2013-08-29 at 4.47.26 PM.pngDescription

Design & construction of two 3MG Ground Storage Tanks; yard piping and valves; site metering and control; control rooms; booster pumps; concrete flatwork; security lighting; backup generator; and appurtenances.

Increased Construction Cost in FY2013 based on increased project scope.  (1) Pump replacement necessary due to NPSH and usable GST volume. (2) Existing building not reusable due to new pump size. (3) Additional electrical and piping needed due to new pumps.

FY2015 project:

$175,000 for additional land needed for future expansion

$172,500 new exterior coating on oldest GST to match City of Webster’s water facilities color scheme, as requested by City of Webster (13 year service life in proposed FY2015)

Why It's Needed
These improvements and upgrades are necessary in order to bring the City's Water Production facilities into compliance with Homeland Security and TCEQ requirements and to build redundancy into the City's system.  These improvements also increase Ground Storage Capacity which is used as emergency supply.
