Ghirardi Family WaterSmart Park
Ghirardi WaterSmart Park PlansThe Plans
The Ghirardi Family WaterSmart Park is a 3 acre passive park dedicated to teaching visitors ways to conserve water use at home. It will consist of:
  • Cistern
  • Green roof kiosk
  • Native planting displays
  • Nature play area
  • Permeable parking spaces
  • Picnic area
  • Rain garden
  • Theater / outdoor classroom

The park will educate the public on water conservation and be part of a program designed to incorporate water conservation measures on future commercial and residential sites in League City.
A federal 319(h) grant will help conduct research on stormwater quality and water conservation techniques and allow incorporation of water quality management requirements into the city’s development codes for use with new development and redevelopment.

The park will be located at Louisianna and Poppy Street in League City.
