    Dr. John B. Charles will give a lecture about the art of Neil Jacobe, an illustrator and graphic artist for Douglas Aircraft Company. The paintings by Mr. Jacobe depict the mundane aspects of “Astro-spies” living and working in weightlessness inside the Manned Orbiting Laboratory (M.O.L.). The M.O.L. was a secret Air Force program created to spy on the Soviet Union and other adversaries during the Cold War. The Laboratory never got off the ground and was cancelled in 1969, and many of the historical documents and pictures were recently declassified.
